Groom's Lapel Carried a Stalk of Asparagus at a Pacific Northwest Garden Wedding
Tess and Connor married at a small garden gathering in the Pacific Northwest, and the detail guests kept returning to sat on the groom's jacket. Florist Kylie Hale built his boutonniere from white flowers and tucked a spear of asparagus in with them. It was a quiet joke that doubled as a statement of intent, because the couple had planned the evening around food, with a dinner meant to please people who take eating seriously. The afternoon also held a Korean Paebaek ceremony, the traditional rite in which the couple honors their families. Seen together, the vegetable on the lapel, the garden setting and the long table of serious cooking read as one idea carried through the whole day.
