FX's 'Snowfall' World Returns to South Central, 1991

FX has a new drama built on the world of "Snowfall," titled "The Drop: A Snowfall Saga," set in South Central in 1991. Gail Bean and Isaiah John reprise the roles they played in the original series for the follow-up, which comes from creator Malcolm Spellman and combines the era's hip-hop music scene with a crime storyline, according to The Hollywood Reporter's review of the show. The trade publication described the result as promising, if uneven.
