The American SetInk deal never came together, Danny Boyle says money wasn't there for Murdoch drama
The Oscar-winning director told The Hollywood Reporter at Telluride that his planned film "Ink," about Rupert Murdoch, could not secure financing. Boyle said backers doubted a project built on theater plays could translate to film, and many were wary of Murdoch and the legal exposure involved. The film, developed with actor Jack O'Connell and writer James Graham, remains without funding.
