Jon M. Chu Says He Won't Rush Casting on Britney Spears Film

Director Jon M. Chu says he is holding off on casting the lead role in his upcoming Britney Spears biopic until the script is finished. Chu, who recently directed "Wicked," said he has read portions of the screenplay from writer Liz Meriwether but is not yet considering actors for the part. The filmmaker said the story needs to be locked first, calling any casting talk premature at this stage. Chu did not offer a timeline for when a script or cast might be finalized.
