Na Hong-Jin's 'Hope' Set for Widest Korean Theatrical Release Since 'Parasite'

"Hope," directed by Na Hong-Jin, opens in roughly 1,500 theaters across the United States starting September 9. Neon, the film's distributor, says that is the widest domestic theatrical release for a Korean-language film since its 2019 release of "Parasite," which became the first non-English-language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. The two releases mark consecutive milestones for Neon in bringing Korean-language films to a wide American theatrical audience.
