October Horror Picks: 'Other Mommy,' 'Carrie' and a Josh Hartnett Sea-Monster Hunt

Variety has published its October 2026 list of horror releases, a monthly guide to new films, series, books and other titles in the genre. The month's selections include "Other Mommy," which the guide describes as aiming for an emotional effect. "Carrie" is also on the list, making a return. Another pick features Josh Hartnett in a story about tracking sea monsters. William Earl, an editor at the trade publication, puts the list together.
