The American SetSony Superhero Film Sets Domestic Box Office Record
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has become the highest-grossing domestic release of all time, according to Variety Film. The film passed 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which had held the record for over a decade. The milestone marks a new benchmark for domestic ticket sales industry-wide. Studio and distribution decisions behind releases of this scale are made largely by companies based in the Los Angeles area.
