Spider-Man Sequel's Overseas Run Keeps Rolling, But It's the Home Turf That Counts for L.A.'s Studios
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has held the top spot at the U.K. and Ireland box office for a sixth straight weekend, according to Variety Film, earning £1.6 million ($2.2 million) as it continued a battle for the chart with "The Odyssey." Sony's superhero title, developed and headquartered out of studio operations that run through the Los Angeles industry, has now logged more than a month at number one overseas. The result adds to a run that Southern California's film business will be watching as the title's international performance continues to build.
