Summer's Record Box Office Hits Close to Home in Beverly Hills

The summer movie season has closed as the highest-grossing on record, with total ticket sales reaching $4.67 billion, according to Variety. The total surpasses every prior summer box office haul, including the years before the pandemic upended theatrical releases in 2020. Industry trackers had already flagged the season as the strongest since that disruption before the final tally confirmed it as an all-time high. The milestone lands close to home in Beverly Hills, where many entertainment companies and talent representatives have a direct stake in how audiences turn out for the movies.
