A Bourbon With a Rye Drinker's Heart, From Palm Beach Bar Carts to Naples Lanais
Russell's Reserve has a new bourbon out, and Eddie Russell, who leads the distilling there, is pointing drinkers straight to the spice. By his account, it shows up in force once the bourbon hits the tongue. That puts it in the territory of people who usually reach past bourbon for rye: from Miami's late rooftops to a quiet Palm Beach library bar to a Naples porch at sunset, there's now a bourbon built on the kind of bite they already like. It's a well-made pour for a sharp-edged palate, and that's something every corner of this state can agree on.
