Fifty Years of Defining Luxury, and Florida Still Can't Agree on It
Robb Report has turned fifty, and it is marking the occasion with an anniversary issue that looks back at what luxury has meant since the magazine began. Half a century is a long time to keep track of the well-made, and few readers will have more opinions about the results than the ones between Palm Beach and Naples. Miami will say luxury is whatever is newest, Palm Beach will say it is whatever has lasted, and Naples will quietly say both are a little loud. A golden jubilee is a fair moment to admit the magazine has been taking that question seriously for longer than most of us have been arguing about it.
