Jaguar's Type 01, a battery-electric GT, has made its debut, and the people who engineered and designed it have talked about what it took to build a car with nothing carried over from an earlier model. They describe starting from nothing as hard work, and the car is the result. A grand tourer is meant for long, unhurried distances, and in Florida that means the drive from Worth Avenue down to Fifth Avenue South, with Miami in between, a city that will want to know whether the car comes in a louder color. Palm Beach will admire the car quietly, Naples will admire it at exactly the speed limit, and Miami will admire it at a valet stand.
