The Pilot Flying Your Airplane on Charter Needed More Than a Commercial Certificate
Holding a commercial certificate is not, by itself, enough to fly passengers for hire on charter. Much of the path to the charter cockpit is the same as the one to a commercial certificate, but a pilot heading into charter work has more to weigh along the way. That matters to an owner whose aircraft earns revenue on a management company's certificate when the owner isn't aboard. The crew in the front seats on those legs got there by a somewhat longer road, and an owner can reasonably ask about it.
