A Sierra Nevada Strip Owners Can Help Pay For: Meadow View Peak Needs $200,000
The JRBAF has bought a parcel of land in the Sierra Nevada, at Meadow View Peak, where it plans to build a new backcountry airstrip. The foundation has opened a $200,000 capital campaign to pay for the development. The finished strip is meant to be open to the public as a place pilots fly to for its own sake. For owners, that is the part that matters. This will not be a private field for one family's hangar. It is meant to be a place where anyone with a suitable airplane can land. At this stage the foundation owns the ground and has a fundraising target. The airstrip itself does not exist yet, and the $200,000 is the gap between the two. Anyone who has wished for one more reason to fly into the Sierra now has a specific place and a specific sum to support.
