Flying has published guidance for flight instructors who take over a student partway through training after the original instructor moves on. For owners working toward a certificate in their own aircraft, the value runs in the other direction: it describes what a good incoming instructor should do to earn the student's confidence and keep the lessons moving without losing ground. A handoff like that is a craft skill, and it is worth knowing what one looks like when it is done well.
