Emily Eerdmans, an author and historian, has made her live-work quarters in Manhattan's West Village a working demonstration of her own taste. Chintz, lacquer, and leopard print share rooms that double as her design laboratory, according to Veranda, which toured the home. Outside, a garden styled after the Cotswolds gives the townhouse a second, quieter register. The result, per the outlet, reads as thoroughly personal rather than showroom-perfect — a home built to be lived in and worked from at once.
