The Nation's Museums and Galleries Get Their Shortlist

ARTnews has published the list of contenders for its awards, now in their third year. The prizes recognize the best work being done across American art, from the museums that hold it to the galleries that show and sell it. For readers who follow what hangs on this country's walls and who put it there, a shortlist like this shows which rooms the art world is watching right now. The honors go to work made and shown here at home.
