Otto Kahn's Oheka Castle on Long Island Goes Up for Bidding

· 1 min read

Oheka Castle, the Long Island house built for Otto Hermann Kahn, is going to auction. It took five years to build, from 1914 to 1919, and its first owner was a financier who also supported the arts. The house has since made its way onto film, with appearances ranging from Citizen Kane to the work of Taylor Swift. For collectors, the main point is plainly stated. A New York house with a named original owner and a documented construction date is coming to auction, and that is the moment a place like this can change hands. No auction house, sale date or estimate has been named, and we won't guess at one.
