A $1.5 Million Son of Into Mischief Opens Belmont's Saturday Card
The first race at Belmont on Saturday carries the most expensive pedigree of the afternoon. Art Museum, a two-year-old colt by Into Mischief, goes to the post in a $100,000 maiden special weight at six and a half furlongs, with the gate set for 12:05 p.m. He brought $1.5 million as a yearling at the Keeneland September sale, a figure that puts him among the costliest juveniles to appear at the track this season. This is his second start. He made his first at Saratoga on August 22, where he finished seventh, seven and three-quarter lengths behind the winner. Saturday's race is the chance to put that afternoon behind him on a different oval and a different day. For anyone in the Belmont grandstand before lunch, the colt is worth a look in the paddock on breeding and price alone.
