The Mentors Behind the Names on the Board

· 1 min read

Every generation of horsemen owes something to the one before it. Thoroughbred Daily News's long-running "Words to Live By" series turned its attention this time to Cathal Beale, asking him to name the mentor who helped shape his path in the industry and the piece of guidance that has stayed with him since. It is a fitting subject for a sport built on apprenticeship, where the men and women who end up on a sale-ring board or a training roster nearly always learned the trade at someone else's shoulder first.

With reporting from Thoroughbred Daily News.
