Built for a Le Mans Driver, the Bellini Astor 38 Takes Its Cues From the Track
The Bellini Astor 38 started as a private commission, and the person who commissioned it races at Le Mans. That shows in the brief. The 38-foot sport yacht has a hull shaped around the way a driver sits, braces and reaches in a race car, and the boat is planned around those positions. The seating borrows the trim language of a fine automobile, and carbon fiber details show up throughout. Many of our readers keep a well-kept garage as well as a slip. For them the appeal is obvious: a boat in which the habits of a driver's seat were part of the design from the first sketch, not added at the end. At 38 feet it stays a manageable size, and every choice on board answers to someone who knows what a good cockpit should feel like.
