For the After-Dinner Pour: Cazcanes Reposados That Each Borrowed a Fruit Liqueur's Barrel
Cazcanes has released a set of reposado tequilas in which every bottling rested in its own barrel. Before the agave spirit went in, each of those barrels had held a liqueur made from a pitted orchard fruit, and no two held the same one. That makes it a lineup of siblings with one difference between them: what the wood held before. For anyone who keeps a serious bar cart or orders down the agave list after dinner, it's a chance to taste how much a barrel's earlier contents can shape a tequila, one cask at a time.
