Airbnb's Brian Chesky Relaxes His One-of-a-Kind Rule
Brian Chesky, Airbnb's chief executive, has eased up on a belief he once held firmly: that every experience offered on the platform had to be singular, something a guest could not find anywhere else. Speaking about hotels, cars and flights, he described having to let go of a fixed set of convictions about what the company should be. He said little about experiences specifically, but the change there points the same way, toward a more open view than his earlier rules allowed. Travelers who plan a trip around where they stay and what they do once they arrive will notice this change of heart from the person who runs the company.
