Booking Puts $100 Million Behind an Itinerary That Pays Attention

· 1 min read

Booking Holdings intends to put $100 million into Vayo, a newly formed artificial-intelligence company. The idea behind Vayo is that a schedule of flights, rooms and dinner reservations should not sit still once it is written. The software is meant to study a traveler's habits and keep an eye on the journey from the first leg to the last, instead of simply listing where to be and when. For anyone who builds a season around a table in Palm Beach or a week in Aspen, the promise is a plan that notices things on your behalf. Booking's existing products already handle the arranging. Vayo is the bet that arranging is only the start.
