United Gives Its Shorter Flights Three Levels of Top Fare
United Airlines has added three distinct tiers to its higher-end tickets on flights within the country and on short trips abroad. The airline already divides these fares this way on its longest routes, and it is now bringing the same structure to the shorter trips. United is betting that people who fly for work will pay more to keep their plans adjustable, even when the flight is brief. For anyone whose week moves between cities and dinner reservations, that choice now comes on the short leg too.
