Advantage, Simkhai: Venus Williams Serves Up the Sculptural Heel Trend at NYFW

The tennis champion took her seat at Simkhai's New York Fashion Week show in a pair of black sandals built for the same architectural moment currently sweeping the front row. Brooks Nader got there first in curved pumps, Amanda Seyfried followed in twisted heels, and now Williams has entered the conversation with her own sculptural pair. Three very different résumés, one shared instinct: this season, the shoe is doing the talking. At Simkhai, Williams let hers say plenty.
