In Brooklyn, a New Chairman for the Fabric That Disappears
TômTex, the Brooklyn-based biomaterials company, has named Ari Hoffman chairman of its board. The company's core material is entirely bio-based, plastic-free and fully compostable, built to leave nothing behind once it's done being worn. Hoffman now holds the top board seat overseeing that proposition, a formal stake in a company built entirely around materials science rather than conventional textiles. It is a Brooklyn address making an outsized claim: that what a garment is made of can matter as much as what it looks like.
