Bruno Frisoni, Sixteen Years the Hand Behind Roger Vivier, Now Draws for Larroudé
Larroudé has a serious new name on its drawing board. Bruno Frisoni, the French designer who spent sixteen years steering Roger Vivier, has created a collection for the label that covers the whole height of a shoe closet, flats at one end and heels at the other. For readers who keep track of who stood on which stage in which pair, that résumé line is the point: a Vivier tenure of that length is the kind of credential that gets a shoe remembered right along with the dress above it. Frisoni's own brief for the project is disarmingly plain. He wants the woman in his shoes to feel, in his words, "sexy and happy." Notice what that leaves out, no manifesto and no lecture on the archive, just the mood a good pair is supposed to put you in. Beyond its span from flat to heel, the range has not yet been described in detail, so the rest waits for the eye once the shoes land.
