At Collina Strada's New York Show, the Beauty Was the Look

At Collina Strada's New York Fashion Week show, the runway's real headline act wasn't only what came down it — it was what covered the skin and topped the head. Models walked with skin polished to a glass-like sheen, eyes worked into a deliberately undone, grunge-leaning smudge, and hair ranging from stiffly backcombed beehives to full, untamed volume. Each element was built to play off the others, turning hair and makeup into a coordinated fantasy rather than a set of separate trends. It made the beauty table as much a part of the show's storytelling as the clothes on the rack.
