DSW Tests Whether Luxury Belongs on the Discount Floor

Four DSW locations are getting a new shop-in-shop this fall called "The Edit," carved out to showcase affordable luxury labels alongside the usual shoe wall. It is a modest footprint by design — a pilot, not a rollout — testing whether shoppers browsing for sneakers and sandals will also reach for a name with more polish attached. The bet is on proximity: put the aspirational next to the everyday and see what a discount retailer's customer actually wants when luxury is one aisle over instead of a full price point away.
