The Gold Trim That Went From Pirate Ships To Sgt. Pepper To Spring 2027

Ermanno Scervino's Spring 2027 collection borrowed a single flourish from two very different centuries: the gold frogging once seen on 18th century pirate coats and, closer to our own era, on The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's uniforms. That braided trim turned up throughout the collection, which WWD described as full of what it called fashion treasures. It is a nice reminder that a good trim never really goes out of circulation, it just changes ships.

With reporting from WWD.
