Nike's Tabi sneaker, the split-toe silhouette instantly recognizable on sidewalks from Miami to the Hamptons, is headed for the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where it's being reworked into a piece of pop art. The treatment puts the shoe's two-pronged shape on the wall as visual art rather than just footwear. Nike is marking the moment at street level too, releasing co-branded tabi socks alongside a new Air Rift 2, so the silhouette moves from gallery to closet in the same season.
