Moncler Opens the Archive, and the Karakorum and Himalaya Jackets Come Back With a Full Wardrobe
Moncler has turned to its own past for something new. Under the Re/Icons banner, the house is presenting a complete line of clothing, not a single piece or a capsule, and it is built around the mountains that shaped the brand. Two names from the Moncler archive lead it: the Karakorum and the Himalaya jackets, both reworked for today. Each is named for a range of serious altitude, and fittingly they carry the collection. The point of a project like this is that an old jacket can still be the reason for a new wardrobe. That is a craft story, and it is the kind we like best. Here in Aspen and across the Colorado high country, where a well-made jacket earns its keep, the timing is good as the slopes start to call.
