The Museum at FIT Puts the Dollhouse Wardrobe on a Pedestal

A new show at the Museum at FIT in New York, titled Doll Dressing, makes the case that a doll's tiny closet deserves the same close reading as any full-size runway archive. Its premise is that the plaything and the collector's piece carry far more design seriousness than their scale suggests. For a city that already treats the garment on the mannequin as a document, the move to miniature feels less like a novelty than a natural next shelf.
