VF's stock climbed after J.P. Morgan analyst Matt Boss moved his call on the apparel company up a notch, to neutral from underweight. It is the kind of upgrade that reads less like a standing ovation than like a courteous rise from one's seat, and the market took it that way, pleasantly. For a company in the business of what people wear, a better word from the bank counts as a good day.
