The Practical Magic Premiere Had Two Ways of Being Right

At the 1998 premiere of "Practical Magic," Sandra Bullock went minimal, letting a clean, pared-back silhouette carry the whole look. A few steps away, costar Mariska Hargitay took the opposite tack in a fitted pencil skirt with real polish to it. Same red carpet, same night, two entirely different arguments for how to dress for one — and nearly thirty years later, both still hold up.
