Elle has ranked ten sets of heated rollers, a vanity-table tool from an earlier generation that turns out to still work. Heated rollers set a curl quickly and add lift at the crown. That makes them a practical choice for a Palm Beach luncheon or a Beverly Hills evening, when there isn't time for a full blowout. Around here, the old methods usually earned their place, and this one has earned it again.

With reporting from Elle.
