The Script Becomes the Souvenir: Jacob Tierney Puts Heated Rivalry Between Hard Covers
Jacob Tierney, who wrote and directed the adaptation of the romance novel Heated Rivalry, has assembled a behind-the-scenes volume titled I'll Believe in Anything, built around his own annotated scripts. The pages carry his working notes alongside the dialogue, so the reader sees not just what was said on screen but what the man behind the camera was thinking as he shaped it. For a desk like ours, which lives on the record of how a thing was made and when, a director's marginalia is the closest thing to a fitting-room photograph: the decisions, caught before they were final. Tierney discussed the project in an exclusive conversation with the magazine.
