Spring 2007's Robot Leggings and Bouquet Dresses Are Aging Better Than Expected

Two decades on, the spring 2007 runways still hold up as one of the more inventive seasons in recent memory. Among the standouts: leggings printed to look almost mechanical, worn like a second skin, and dresses gathered and layered to read like arrangements fresh from a florist. It is the kind of season that rewards a second look, the sort of archive material that still informs what turns up on a red carpet or a pageant stage today. Twenty years later, both ideas remain instantly recognizable — proof that a strong collection does not need much time to become a reference point.
