Across Fashion Month, designers are sending corsets, bra tops and slip dresses down the runway not as foundations but as the finished look — done up in saturated color rather than the usual nude. The idea: a bustier stands in for a blouse, and concealment gives way to confidence. For a coastline that has never needed convincing that a well-cut swimsuit counts as eveningwear, the jump from lingerie drawer to closet rod won't take much explaining.
