Volume Is Back on the Guest List

The blowout is climbing again, and this time it is climbing on purpose. Stylists, influencers and a handful of designers are taking the towering volume of the 1980s and giving it a modern edit — lifted roots, generous curl, a shape built to read from across a room rather than up close. It reads less like nostalgia than recalibration, the same bigness reengineered for a camera instead of a shoulder pad. In a town like Nashville, where a tall crown of hair never fully went out of fashion, the comeback will feel less like a revival and more like a homecoming.
