When "Handmade" Stops Meaning Anything
Fashion has found a new favorite word for the tag, and it is starting to show the wear. Vogue reports that as more brands reach for "handmade" to set themselves apart, the term risks going the way of "sustainable" — repeated so often it stops telling a shopper anything specific. It is a distinction worth holding onto on Rodeo Drive as much as anywhere else: a label is not proof, and craft still has to be earned, not just printed.
