The Couple Who Painted Their Own Wedding
Elena and Alexandr did not hire an artist for their wedding. They painted it themselves. Every figure on the backdrop that framed their day started as one of their own paintings: a leopard in pink, a moon with a face, women dressed in indigo and violet. Nothing on that wall came from a stock print or a rented set. The drawings were theirs before they were enlarged into a scene for guests to stand in front of. The lilies were set with jewels, and there were bubble guns on hand, so the room moved and shimmered around the painted figures. In Beverly Hills, where so many celebrations are built by teams of specialists, it stands out when a couple's own hand made the wedding.
