At the Telfair Ball, the Color Waited Behind a Curtain
Guests arriving at the 2026 Telfair Ball stepped first into a tent with no color in it at all. The flowers carried none. The chairs carried none. Even the bar was kept white, so that the whole first room read as one uninterrupted absence of a palette. Only after a curtain parted did a second tent appear, where a Savannah artist's hand-painted work supplied, all at once, the color the first room had withheld.
