Sony Pictures Negotiating for Christopher McQuarrie's Film Version of EA's "Battlefield"
Sony Pictures is negotiating to take on a film based on "Battlefield," the military-themed video game owned by Electronic Arts. Christopher McQuarrie is set as the project's writer and director, and he would also serve as a producer. Michael B. Jordan is a producer on the film and may also appear in it. No casting has been confirmed. The studio has not yet closed a deal, and the talks are still underway. The project brings together a game publisher, a filmmaker who would handle the script, the direction and production himself, and a performer who has signed on behind the camera and could also act in it.
