Married Where They First Met: A Black-Tie Wedding at the Country Club of Detroit
Ginny and Gordon married at the Country Club of Detroit, the same club where they went on their first date. For a couple choosing a venue, that is the strongest reason there is: the room already means something before anyone decorates it. They set the dress code at black tie. That one line on the invitation decides the formality of the whole day, from what the guests wear to how the evening runs. They named Nancy Meyers as their style reference, which tells a planner and every vendor what the day should feel like before the first mood board goes around. Liz Banfield, a member of the Little Black Book photographer network, photographed the day from start to finish. When the venue carries this much of the story, it makes sense to hire one photographer for the whole day.
