A Love Letter to Nashville, Sung From the Station Inn Stage
Ashley Monroe has put out a new live record, and she chose to make it in one of this city's most storied small rooms. The album is called Dear Nashville (Live At The Station Inn), and the title says most of what you need to know about its intent. Rather than a studio, she took the songs to the Station Inn, a bluegrass stage where audiences come to listen rather than talk, and let the night become the record. For a town that produces no shortage of polished product, an album built around a single room and a single performance is its own kind of statement. The address in the title is the point: this one belongs to Nashville.
