Rhett Akins marked his birthday on Monday, Oct. 13, by joining the Grand Ole Opry as a full member. The induction took place that evening at the Opry, the Nashville stage where membership is extended rather than applied for. For a city that measures standing by who gets asked to belong, a birthday spent stepping into that circle counts as a fine way to celebrate.
