Fourteen Emmys for the Island That May or May Not Be Cursed

"Widow's Bay," the freshman drama from Apple TV+, left Sunday's Emmy ceremony with fourteen trophies in hand — a sweep, and an unusually complete one for a show still in its first season. The premise has had audiences arguing since it premiered: an island community drawn just ambiguously enough that no one can quite settle whether it's cursed, and the writers have never been in a hurry to say. Fourteen statues settles a different question. It is, by any measure, a verdict on the season's best new arrival.
