Vanity Fair Opens a Screening Room Ahead of the Awards Season
Vanity Fair has introduced the Screening Room, a new series built around the pictures expected to compete for the 2026 awards. The guest list reads like a well-planned table. Julianne Moore, Matt Damon and Penélope Cruz lead the announcement, and Pedro Pascal, Andrew Scott and Ava DuVernay are among the actors and filmmakers joining them. Each evening shows the film first and then turns to the people who made it, so the audience hears from the cast and filmmakers in the same room. The magazine calls this the first annual edition, which means it plans to bring the series back. On the island, the year's films come up at dinner all winter, from the North End to Worth Avenue. This series puts the people behind those films in front of an audience before anyone has to decide which one they favor.
